Semax is a synthetic peptide of 7 amino acids, an analog of ACTH (4-10). It joins the ACTH (4-7) fragment Met-Glu-His-Phe to Pro-Gly-Pro, which makes it more stable, and has no hormonal activity. It was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is studied in neuroscience research.
