KPV research guide · Updated 24 Oct 2026

What is KPV?

KPV is a tripeptide made of lysine, proline and valine. It is the C terminal end (amino acids 11 to 13) of alpha melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), which is why PubChem lists it as MSH (11-13). It has been studied in laboratory models of inflammation. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research only.

How KPV is tested

A good KPV listing comes with a lab report for the exact lot in the vial. These are the results to look for:

  • Purity (HPLC)

How much of the sample is the compound

  • Identity (MS or LCMS)

Confirms it is the right molecule

  • Net content

The real mg in the vial versus the label

  • Endotoxin (LAL)

    Bacterial residue, reported in EU

  • Sterility

Confirms nothing is growing in the vial

  • Heavy metals (ICP-MS)

    Arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury

Storage and handling

Lyophilized KPV is stable at room temperature while it ships. For long term storage keep vials at minus 20 °C. Once reconstituted for laboratory use, store at 2 to 8 °C and use within 30 days.

KPV vs BPC-157

KPV is a 3 amino acid fragment of alpha-MSH. BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid peptide. KPV is also one of the four peptides in the KLOW blend, alongside BPC-157, GHK-Cu and TB-500.

Questions and answers

KPV questions, answered

Where can I buy KPV?

KPV is coming soon to Online Peptide Market. Join the Researcher Club to hear as soon as a brand lists it, with its lab report, price per mg and shipping terms.

Is the KPV third-party tested?

KPV is coming soon. When a brand lists it, the lab report for its lot will appear on this page.

What is the difference between KPV and BPC-157?

They are different peptides. KPV is a tripeptide (Lys-Pro-Val) taken from the end of alpha-MSH, CAS 67727-97-3. BPC-157 is a 15 amino acid peptide, CAS 137525-51-0. Both are in the KLOW blend, which is sold here. KPV on its own is coming soon.

How should KPV be stored?

Keep lyophilized vials at minus 20 °C for long term storage. They are stable at room temperature while shipping. Once reconstituted for lab use, store at 2 to 8 °C and use within 30 days.

What does research use only mean?

Products are sold only for in vitro laboratory research. They are not drugs, supplements or cosmetics, are not FDA approved, and are not for human or veterinary use. Buyers must be 21 or older.
