What is IGF-1 LR3?

IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83 amino acid analog of insulin like growth factor 1. Compared with IGF-1 it has arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3 and a 13 amino acid extension at the N terminal end. These changes reduce binding to IGF binding proteins in laboratory studies. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research only.
